a) What argument is Burnett making about African speculative fiction, in his paper? How does he describe the novella, Binti as an example of speculative fiction? 

b)The novella, Binti, is often regarded as a Bildungstrom, i.e. coming of age story. How is Binti able to create a new kind of identity for herself on her journey to Oomza Uni? Do you think Bintis experiences reflect or redefine typical notions of coming of age? Please explain, referencing other relevant texts in your response.

c) In what ways does taking on some of their physical characteristics help Binti serve as a bridge between the Meduse and humans? Can this be described as part of her coming of age?  Why?
